Senior Human Resources Consultant (Ret.)
Jose R. Morales (Joe) has had a vast and varied career which has forged a mature, hands on, disciplined and ethical Human Resources professional. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Brooklyn, New York he is fully bilingual (English/Spanish) . Joe's life experience includes active military and Reserve service with combat in Vietnam as a 2nd Lieutenant, Infantry Platoon Leader and Company Commander in Korea on the DMZ. In the private sector he worked in Human Resources for companies including Lockheed-Martin, Frito-Lay, General Electric and Levi Strauss advancing within the various companies to HR Manager, Labor Relations Director and HR Director.
Joe earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico and completed the Strategic Leadership Course at the Goizzetta School of Business in Atlanta Georgia. He holds the Human Resources Certification Institute's Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) designation as well as the new Society for Human Resources Management Certification of Senior Certified Professional (SCP).

His extensive military and private sector experience are complimented by a calm, professional demeanor which allows Joe to develop relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization. Combined with his leadership, business acumen and a thorough understanding of finances, Joe's critical evaluation, coaching, and consultation abilities led to his becoming chief negotiator and number one chair for negotiation of collective bargaining agreements. His advanced language skills helped him effectively negotiate collective bargaining agreements, conduct supervisory and management development training in Puerto Rico, Mexico and Venezuela. He has also traveled to Peru for special assignments and made a business development presentation at the Embassy in Quito, Ecuador.
He has served as a volunteer on several boards, to include the Benefit Board for General Electric Del Caribe in Puerto Rico and most recently the Northwest Lake County Facilities Planning Committee; School Advisory Council in Leesburg, Florida where he lives with his lovely wife, Mary. He currently serves as Board Vice President for the Leesburg Resident Golf Courses. Joe has also been a volunteer Mentor at Oak Park Middle School, and Leesburg High School. Although he is quite comfortable in semi-retirement, Joe is available to provide valuable insight for JMG clients facing the most complex Human Resources issues.
